Guest Performer -
Chooka Williams

With Four Albums under his belt and a swag of performances all over the country, Chooka Williams is one of country music's most versatile performers.

Born in Ouyen on 10th August 1946, the 4th of five children in a musical family, Chooka started his journey at the tender age of 14 with mentor and good friend Mary Cummins. He was also a member of the bands Owltones and Martin, Bartin and Fargo. Chooka was happy playing in the background as a musician, then was eventually forced to the front with his melodic and harmonic voice which lead him to be very popular amongst many audience members.

He's a generous man who gives his time freely to charity performances including The Royal Flying Doctor Service, Angel Flight and plenty more. He has so many credits to his name over his career including participating in the Olympic Torch song contest with local children (who wrote the lyrics) and Chooka co-wrote the music of the winning song and performed with the children in Mildura while the cauldron was lit.

Chooka's Albums are available at all his shows and will be available at the Ballarat Country Music Inc in April when he will be performing as our guest performer.
